How To Activate A New Dstv Decoder
When you purchase your brand new Dstv decoder, it comes with 1 month free viewing. But to be able to start viewing, the decoder needs to be activated in your name for easier payment, management and problem solutions.
You are strongly advised to use a Multichoice Accredited Installer to install your new equipment to avoid future signal interuptions due to poor installations and unnecessary breakages and damages.
After your decoder is installed, it is time now for Activation. There are several ways you can activate your decoder, but lets talk about three today.
Dealer Activation
Send the following details to your dstv supplier, who will in turn foward them to an authorised dealer. But if you have access to an authorised dealer, you can as well send directly to them.
The deatails are;
- Your full names as they appear in your identification documents.
- Your ID number (Passport number can also be used or in rare cases, you can use your driving licence number)
- Phone number
- Email address
- Your residense area
- Smartcard or IUC number that can be found on the decoder itself of container box.
- Decoder number on the decoder or container box.
Email Activation
You can activate your decoder by sending the above details to Multichoice via Email. If you are in Kenya, you can send to mchoice@ke.multichoicekenya.com.
Ussd
You can activate your decoder via USSD by dialing *423# and selecting activate new decoder.
It's advisable the decoder should be set on Channel 200 as you do the activations. This is because channel 200 is offered on all Dstv packages. Let's say you are activating Dstv Family and you have your decoder on Channel 203. You will think that your decoder is not yet activated, because channel 203 is offered on Compact and above.
